With a Buzz Buzz Here and a Buzz Buzz There!

Ever since we found out that we were having boys, Matt and I started debating about the subject of hair. He wants long curly locks, kind of surfer style. I like short and clean cut...a little spiky, my fave-a faux hawk. I used to tell him (before their 1st hair cut) that he was going to come home one day to find them with short hair do. This last time, they desperately needed a hair cut...like 2 months ago. But Matt was insisting that we grow it out. I hated it long. It no longer could be spiked up. They wont wear a hat. So, they end up looking like a R.A.G.G.M.O.P.P! See what I mean? I had enough of it, so I FINALLY talked Matt into agreeing to get the cuts. I need to remember that I like the back of their hair to be cut with a 3 or 4 and the top to be cut with scissors...not clippers. Once again, it's a little short, but it looks better than it did (even if it's a little military-like, no offense). Their hair grows pretty fast, so in a couple of weeks it will be perfect! Here are my little stud muffins with their short dos...

Balboa Babes

We had NOTHING planned for this weekend, which is a rare thing...especially lately. So Friday night, Matt and I decided to go to his parents beach house in Balboa for the weekend. It was just going to be us, a nice little getaway. We had a blast. Seriously, it was the first time in a long time that the beach was actually relaxing and fun. (Not so fun with infants/babies). The kids had a great time too. It's so funny to see how different the boys are from each other and how much Mackenzi's outlook on the water has changed in just one year. She went from fearless to cautious. I think she handed the "fearless" part down to Quinn, because man...he's an animal! Jace was happy sitting on the dry sand playing with his toys and throwing sand (which Mommy wasn't happy about). The first day there, we went down to the water for a bit. (In case you are like so many and can't tell my cuties apart, Don't fret...Jace is in the blue trunks, Quinn is in the green)
Then we got the kids cleaned up and went for a bike ride for a couple of hours. After playing hard at the water, all 3 kids were conked out for the ride. It obviously looked funny because a lot of people that passed us were cracking out at the sleepy kids...especially the boys.
Later that afternoon, I found the kids jumping on the bed...go figure...AND playing guitar hero
On Sunday, we watched Uncle Cody play a little baseball at UCI, then went back to the beach with Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Cody and some of their friends. Quinn decided that he had enough of the water, so both boys were content to play on the dry sand. I couldn't really tell if Mackenzi was running/dancing away from the waves or running/dancing with her shadow...possibly both! Regardless, she was sure a happy girl!!
I love summer. I'm so happy that it's getting easier (not easy, just easier) with the boys. It makes me more excited to venture out & do other things. Next on our Summer list...HAVASU! We'll be leaving Thursday!!!

This week, I did not let our dog Hurley in to "clean up" the messes made by the kids at breakfast, snack, or lunch time". That would be just lazy and gross. We are SUPER clean at our house...that is something I definitely did not do.

While at the beach this weekend, Mackenzi and I went to our favorite trendy boutique/coffee shop. While in line, Mackenzi told me she needed to go potty. I totally didn't tell Mackenzi to "wait just a few minutes" while I finished shopping. I would never do that while I'm trying to potty train, especially when she is in "real panties". Then, she most certainly did not pee the hugest puddle of pee all over the floor of that trendy boutique. I was the most embarrassed I've been in awhile, I mean...ahem...if that did really happen!!

I am not off to Target to finish buying my sister's birthday present. Today is her 30th birthday, and I am a planner. I would not wait till the day of her birthday to buy her gift!! Nope, not me!

By the way...Happy Birthday Dana! Love you! Head over to my mom's page to see some sweet posts about my sister!!

Then head over to Mck Mama's page to see some more Not Me Mondays!!

Flashback Friday

2005
(Body Before Babies)
This picture was taken on our Honeymoon in Jamaica. We were at a toga party. This was right before Matt entered me in a "booty shaking contest"...UGH! I didn't want to do it (don't like getting in front of people), but I did. I almost won too, until a Jamaican gal came up and put me to SHAME! If you can't tell by the glossy, red faces...it was blazing hot and MUGGY! Oh well, We had a blast anyways!!

Out of the Mouths of sassy girls Babes

If you know Mackenzi then you know she has lots of sass. Not exactly something to brag about, I know... Here are some random ramblings that have come out of her mouth this week...
**while outside playing** "Mommy, I need to go inside...right now...or else me and my toys are going to meeeellllttttt!!"
**while I was getting dressed in the morning** "Mommy, your bunnies are showing! Why are your panties like that. You need to cover those bunnies before daddy sees them. Okay, I'm going to spank those bunnies right now!"
** while putting her down for bed at 7:45 p.m.** "But I'm not tired...it's not even dark out yet"
**While playing with her friend, Evan**said in a very sing-songy voice: "oooohhhh, Eeevvvvaaannn....did you just say a bad word? I think you did!! You just said GEEZZZ! We don't say that word!!!!"
And my favorite...
**while cuddling with me on the couch early in the morning** "Mommy, I really don't like your breath right now!"
Seriously...sometimes, you just gotta laugh!Don't let this innocent face fool you!

Father's Day 2009

"Anyone can be a father,
but it takes someone special to be a Daddy."

Matt is a wonderful Daddy. The kids just adore him. They can't wait for him to walk through the door after work. He is greeted daily by three kids running to see him, hug him, and kiss him. It's amazing that he can give them some good ol' rough and tumble play and still be gentle when they need it. We are so lucky! We love you!!

We spent Father's Day with all of the special "Daddys" in our life! We woke up and the kids gave Matt his Father's Day present (bright and early, as you can see in the pic). Then we had yummy waffles (the boy's favorites). My family came over for lunch. We were able to hang out, talk, and enjoy each other's company. It was nice being lazy with everyone!

My dad opening his gift.
Dad, Dana, and meNext, it was off to Matt's parent's house for dinner. We had a delicious dinner then swam in the (heated) pool...my favorite kind of swimming!! It was sort of a stressful day because Jace wasn't feeling well at all! He was SUPER fussy (as you can see from the pic below) and only wanted me to hold him!!!
Rick (Matt's Dad) and the boys Matt's Dad and my Dad couldn't be more different from each other. They are definitely two different sides of the spectrum. However, they are both AWESOME fathers and even better Grandfathers! We are so lucky to have these men in our lives as role models! We love you guys!

Birthday Festivities!!

Matt "worked from home" on Mackenzi's birthday, so that we could all hang out together. We started off the day with her favorite breakfast...donuts!! We let her open presents (from us) then headed off to the L.A. Zoo! It was super hot outside, but we all still had a good time. Her favorite thing was the zebras. We really enjoyed looking at the giraffes too. I never knew how long their tongues were...gross! The boys liked the animals, but they weren't too interested! Once we got home, we had dinner, sang her happy birthday and had cake! We ended up getting her a Barbie bike (along with a few other things). Now all she needs to do is learn how to ride it!!

On Saturday, we had a small princess birthday party with my family and Matt's family. I made her a tutu and embellished a shirt for her to wear too. Mackenzi was SPOILED ROTTEN with all the wonderful gifts! She got a scooter, dress up clothes and shoes, a few outfits, money and gift cards, a purse and necklaces, a cupcake maker and LOTS of Barbies (her most favorite thing to do). I made her a (Ariel) Barbie cake. It turned out pretty good for my first try (with this kind of cake). She loved it and that's all that matters. Of course she had a yellow dress, because that's Mackenzi's favorite color. She took her time to make a wish. What did she wish for? A very important wish..."I wish all the princesses will go to the castle!" So cute!
Thank you to everyone who came to help us celebrate! We are so lucky to have such awesome families!!!

Happy Birthday Gavin and Lincoln!

We had a blast at Gavin and Lincoln's first birthday celebration...surfer style! It's always so much fun to hang with our friends....it's even better because there are so many babies and kids around these days! Gav and Link had a surfer themed party with a Nemo Jumper and a balloon twister. Kenzi was so excited to get an Ariel Balloon. The kids had fun running around and playing with the others. It's amazing that the Ware boys are already one!!We ended up staying at their house all day long. We put the kids to bed and played poker with Dusty and Em...that is until we were stopped dead in our tracks by Mackenzi's start to the stomach flu!!! (Sorry about that Em!) So much for that! So we packed all 6 kids in the car (mind you we still had the Glithero's kids...see previous post) and headed home (at 11:30 pm) . The whole night I was praying that the rest of the kids would sleep soundly that night without getting sick (which they did). Luckily, she got over it quickly. Talk about putting a damper on the mood!! It was an awesome day filled with friends, fun, and happy times even though the night didn't end well!!
