Mr. Personality

Jace has always been a character.  Early on, he would make crazy faces or sounds just to get Quinn to laugh.  It was adorable to watch.  He has continued to be the silly guy.  I swear, he is going to be the class clown in high school.  His daily expressions will put a smile on your face.  He's such a crack up.  These two pictures show two of the many faces he does on a daily basis.

This first face usually has a silly voice that comes along with it.  Kinda like baby talk.  This is his silly-mood face.  He'll say silly things that just make you laugh.  Here is an example,

We were in the waiting room at my doctors office, Jace looks around and says, "Are we on a cruise ship or something?!"   All while making that face and talking silly.

This next picture cracks me up.   He half closes his eyes like he's really sleepy or had a few too many drinks and pushes his bottom lip out.  He is constantly doing this face too.  This could be his 'proud face' or his pretend pouty face.

I just love this guy and the many ways he makes us smile!!

All Smiles

We got a special treat this morning, Nana and Camden (my sister's newest babe) came over for a quick visit.  He was the happiest I've ever seen him. He is usually happy, but he was extra happy this morning.
I think he likes Auntie's house!!
Since our family has been battling the sickies since, oh....JANUARY, we haven't been able to spend much time ooh-ing and ahhh-ing over this little man.  I can't believe he's almost three months old already.
Mackenzi got to hold him for a bit, she was in heaven.  He looked like he enjoyed it too!!
Isn't he just a doll!!  Ahhh, I fall in love with him more and more each time I see him.

Easter 2011

We woke up to a very drizzly Easter morning yesterday.  The kids were very excited to see their baskets and hunt eggs.  They each got a bathing suit, jump rope, a few small toys, and LOTS of candy!!  We went to Water of Life's Easter Service at Glen Helen Pavilion, which is an outdoor stadium. It was drizzling/sprinkling the whole time.  By the time it was done we were all soaked and freezing, even though we did bring blankets, jackets, and umbrellas.  It didn't matter though, because the message was awesome.  We really enjoyed it!!  After church, we headed to Rick & Wendy's house for brunch.  It was a pretty relaxing day.

Spring Cleaning

I've been super busy over the past month busily spring cleaning our home.
I hate to admit it, but I've never spring cleaned.
So this year, I wanted to do it.
Our house was deep cleaned last year before we moved in but it could use a good cleaning again!  If you don't want to be bored, then just stop reading now.  I just wanted to write down what I've cleaned so far...
I have been using my new Shaklee products and I just LOVE them.  They work great!  Okay, here's what's checked off so far:
Living Room: Wash windows, clean blinds, dust shelves, picture frames, vents, vacuum in and under couches, and clean baseboards
Entry Way:  Dust walls, clean table, banister, & doors, vacuum lampshade & stairs, clean baseboards.
Downstairs Bathroom: Clean blinds, baseboards, walls/door, wash windows, deep scrub on sink and toilet.
Family Room: Dust ceiling fan/vents, dust blinds, & behind computer hutch. Wash baseboards, slider, windows and window sills, curtains, and vacuum in and under couch and fireplace
Kitchen: Clean oven, microwave, coffeepot and blinds.  Wash windows, wipe down cabinets, clean top of fridge, and baseboards.
Outside:  Clean all downstairs windows, scrub front door, clean downstairs screens, clean out garage fridge, wash doors in the garage.
Kid's Bathroom:  Scrub baseboards, tub/shower, wash windows, blinds, scrub sinks, counters, and toilet, wash window and shower curtains, wipe down cabinets.
Hallway: Clean baseboards and doors, dust light fixtures, spot clean walls
Boys' Room: Wash windows, baseboards, curtains and blinds.  Clean mirrors, walls, wipe down beds, flip mattresses, straighten closet, dust.
Mackenzi's Room:  Dust ceiling fan, vents, and furniture.  Clean windows, baseboards, blinds, and curtains.  Flip mattress, straighten closet and organize drawers.
Replaced all batteries in smoke detectors.

I haven't even touched the toy room, the master bedroom/bath/closet or the laundry room.  Those are the last things on my list, plus a few fix-its around the house!!  It's so nice to see so many things crossed off my list.  I'm so glad our house will be spic-and-span for the summertime!!!!

I have a question for you...If you live in a two story house, how do you clean the outside of your windows upstairs??  They need it in the worst way...any advice??

Quinn...My Tookie Pie

From the long eyelashes,
 To the pouty lips,
 the sloppy hair,
 and poopy lips,
He's rambunctious, fun, silly, and sweet (when he wants to be). He's a ball of energy. He's stubborn. He's amazing, he's adorable.
I just love every piece of him!!

Weak in the Knees

Hurley spent the day at the Vet yesterday.  She had to be sedated to do the x-rays on her hips.  She spent the night totally out of it, she was just laying around and whining.  She is still a little whiny today, that sedation threw her for a loop.

We found out that her hips and back look great.  He thinks that her pain/weakness is coming from her knees.  She has strained them, the ACL's aren't torn yet, but she's working on it.  We are supposed to keep her calm (ha!), don't let her chase birds, bubbles, shadows, lizards, or get frisky with other dogs.  He thinks that all the fast stops/starts while running caused it.  He said that we need to watch her weight, because excess weight will cause more pain.  If we baby her, they may heal on their own (crossing our fingers).  So it looks like she'll be doing a lot less of her favorite things and a lot more going on calm walks.

We are so grateful that it wasn't something that needed surgery asap.  Thanks for thinking of  her!!!

Hurley Girl

We are dropping off Hurley for X-rays in the morning.  Our fingers and toes are crossed that their findings aren't terribly expensive to fix.  Hurley has been somewhat uncomfortable and in some pain for a couple of months now.  It all started when we were playing frisbee with her a couple months back, after an afternoon of playing, she couldn't get up.  It's like her back legs don't work.  It has come and gone for a couple of months, some days she's completely fine, others not.  It seems to be getting worse over the last couple of weeks.  We took her to the vet two weeks ago and he didn't 'feel' anything wrong, but wanted to do x-rays.  I really hope it's nothing serious.  She is only (almost) 4 years old, and I couldn't bare the thought of my kids growing up without sweet Hurley.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!!  I'll keep you posted!

A Party fit for a Princess

Mackenzi got invited to a neighbor's 4th birthday party yesterday.  It was a dress up princess party and it was adorable.  Even Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) came to the party...the REAL Sleeping Beauty.  The little princesses had so much fun.  She read them a story, taught them a princess dance and played games with the girls.  Mackenzi was in heaven.  Here are a few pictures from the party.

Feeling Lucky in Vegas?

Last Sunday, we left the kids with my mom {which we seem to be doing a lot lately, you ROCK mom!} and headed North to Vegas.  We were there to celebrate Matt's 30th birthday with our friends.  There were 13 of us in all.  We stayed at the Palms, our room was a suite and boy, was it SWEET!.  Here are {most} of the girls hanging out in our suite on Sunday afternoon.
 {Me, Emily, Monique, Leti, and Melissa...who had a bad case of the giggles}

After a night spent enjoying Italian food and dancing we woke up and headed to the Hash House a Go-Go.  It was awesome.  It's a ways off the strip, but worth it.  It was so yummy.  Here is the whole group, minus Jeremy and Melissa.
Some people in our group were very lucky and won some money!!! YAY!!  Others of us weren't so much.
But that's okay.  I was the unluckiest of them all because I was battling a tummy bug that kept me feeling terrible for most of the trip!!  Unfortunately, the kids were {and still are} battling it back home too!   Oh well, We can't all be lucky, right!?

Because I was feeling so miserable, these two pictures are the only good ones from the whole trip.  I'm going to have to beg our friends to share their shots with me.  It really was lots of fun, We spent Monday poolside and hung out in Downtown Las Vegas that night.  We headed home Tuesday.  I'm so glad everyone was able to go!!  We haven't all hung out like that in a long time!!  We're so fortunate to have such great friends!!!

Happy Birthday Boppa!!

We spent Saturday afternoon with some of our favorite people at one of our favorite places to visit!
BOPPA & NANA'S HOUSE!!
We were celebrating his birthday.  We were bummed that my brother Ryan wasn't able to make it, darn work schedule, but we still had lots of fun watching movies, eating, enjoying each other's company, and celebrating the birthday of my dad!!!

#33

We spent Saturday morning in the freezing cold at Cody's baseball game.  We hadn't been to a game all season.  It was awesome.  The kids had so much fun.  It was the first of Matt's brothers' sporting events that we've gone to and actually enjoyed (since the kids were born).  They were a piece of cake and had a blast playing around the field!  Cody started as pitcher.  Here are some action shots Matt took of him.

Kelsea came to play with Kenzi for awhile.  They had lots of fun.  Once the cold got to them, they cuddled under the blanket for awhile!
Quinn decided that the best way to get down the huge, grassy hill was on his bottom.  He ended up getting grassy spliters through his pants and unders right into his boy-parts.  Poor guy.  But he sure had fun!
Jace decided to brave it like the big kids there and roll down the hill.  Here's an action shot of him mid roll.  He was kind of rolling sideways, so it was a nice and slow roll!!!
I'm sure we'll be enjoying lots more of Cody's games this season!!!
Go #33!!

Our House Guest

We have a special visitor at our house.
She came home from school with Mackenzi  yesterday.
Her name is Daisy the Duck (Daisy brought her friend Little Quack too).
Mackenzi couldn't be happier!
She goes back to school tomorrow.
Now, we're off to show Daisy some fun!

Infections, Big Boy Cups, & Streaking

Last week Mackenzi had a horrible night.  She was up A LOT coughing, actually more like barking, wheezing, & crying.  Her voice was almost non existent, except for a whisper.  Her throat hurt like nobody's business.  She also had a fever.  I made her an appointment first thing in the morning.  She had a throat infection and Croup.  Poor girl!!  It's been five days...she's done with her steroid & antibiotics.  She still has a lingering cough, but it's not a bark anymore.  Here's a picture of her snoozing on the cough when she felt so terrible!! I swear our immune system hasn't been very strong these last 3 months.  It seems as if there is a bug/infection/cold to catch...we're going to catch it!!
 ..........................................
In other news, the boys have been drinking from big boy cups at the table.  They think it's pretty darn cool!  When we were on the cruise a couple of weeks ago, we kept forgetting their sippy-cups at dinner time.  They though it was so fun to drink out of the water goblets.  So I picked up some mini cups and they love them.  They just need to get used to staying at the table to drink.  No more walking around the house with their cuppys.  Big boys!!!

....................................................
Speaking of Big Boys....They've been potty trained for several months now.  Since the weather has been warmer and we've been playing outside more, I showed them how to pee in the bushes outside (in the backyard).  They think it's pretty cool.  Sometimes they'll ask to go outside just to pee, silly guys.  On Saturday morning we sure got a laugh.  I wish I had my camera, because I SO would have taken a picture.  Matt & I were washing his car and the boys were out front playing in their jammies.  All the sudden I look over and there are the boys...pants off, peeing on my flowers in the front yard!!! Showing their 'junk' for the whole world to see!! I couldn't say anything...I just had to laugh.   We're working on teaching them it's ONLY okay to do it the back yard!!  I swear, the neighbors probably think our family is a real piece of work!!
.............................................................
AHHH, life with little ones.  It doesn't get much better than this!!
