Thanksgiving Break

The kids had last week off for Thanksgiving.  We spent some of the week doing fun things like shopping, playing, and going to the park.  We also spent some of the week resting & watching movies.  Quinn & Mackenzi  came down with the stomach flu.  Jace had a runny nose & fever.  Bentley had a cold and cough.  We were full of the sickies.  Matt got to get in some golf & softball and I was able to go see Breaking Dawn.

On Thanksgiving, we went over to Matt's parents house.  The kids had lots of fun playing and eating.  Luckily they were all feeling great that day!  We ate and ate and ate.  We visited with family and friends.  It was a beautiful day!!

Now we're getting back into the swing of things.  School, household duties, homework, and Christmas shopping is what we have planned in the upcoming weeks.  Throw in some Christmas parties and preparing for a week long vacation in a couple weeks....we're going to be busy!!  Christmas will be here before we know it!!

Bath-time Fun

Bentley took her first bath in the big bath tub last week.  She was so excited!!  She just kept splashing and splashing!!  What a big girl!!!

Thanksgiving Past...

I thought it would be fun to show a little flashback of all the Thanksgivings since Matt and I have had our children. It's amazing how our lives have changed in the past 6 years.

We alternate which family we celebrate Thanksgiving with every year. This year we will be spending the day with Matt's family!!  Thanksgiving dinner is one of my favorite meals, so I'm really looking forward to the food.  The company's not so bad either!! :)

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends!!!

Pre-K Thanksgiving Feast

The boys had a Thanksgiving celebration at their school last week.  Their class dressed like Native Americans. Some other classes dressed like pilgrims.  They marched in a parade, listened to a stories around the Tee-Pee and enjoyed a Feast of good food.  They had lots of fun and were so excited to see us watching their parade.

We are so thankful that our boys are at such a wonderful preschool.
Their teachers are amazing.
They are learning so much and are surrounded by lots of love!
Best of all, they LOVE school!!!

8 Months Old

Our little pumpkin turned 8 months old in October.  This month she mastered sitting up.  I no longer have to worry about her falling over while sitting.  Her tummy issues stopped and I also stopped nursing.  A few days after she was strictly formula an amazing thing happened.  SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!  We were thrilled, to say the least!  She loves to roll around on the floor and playing with her feet is still one of her favorite things to do!

She's a busy bee and loves to play and grab anything and everything she can...

Her personality is shining through.  She's silly and flirty, she takes everything in before she reacts, and she loves her Mama!!
She still adores her brothers and sister and thinks Quinn is the funniest thing on the planet.  She's tried lots of new foods.  Cottage cheese and sweet potatoes are her favorites!!

I wish I could slow down time...I know with the rush of the holidays, her birthday is going to come in a blink of an eye....

We love you sweet Bentley!!

Our Super Star!

The first trimester of the school year is over, which meant it was time for Parent-Teacher Conferences and the awards assembly.  Our conference went wonderfully.  Mackenzi is doing an amazing job in first grade.  She got all O's and +'s on her report card, except for one check mark (which means satisfactory).  She got the check in stays on task.  She has a bit of trouble not talking to the members of her table group.  Shame on the teacher for putting her at a table with 3 cute little boys...of course she's going to talk to them. This girl is BOY CRAZY!  Especially because these 3 little boys were in her Kindergarten class too, so she is very comfortable with them.  Her teacher had nothing but nice words about Mackenzi and her progress.  She is one smart cookie!!  She is excelling in all areas of first grade!   Last week, she received two awards at her assembly, one for citizenship and one for academics.

Mackenzi and her Teacher

We are so proud of our smart little first grader!!

Halloween 2012

Jace & Quinn were Dash (from The Incredibles), Braeden was a soccer player, Camden was Pavlov  the puppy, Kenzi was a doctor, Kelsea was a bumblebee, and Bentley was a ladybug
Okay, so Thanksgiving is in three days and I'm just getting around to posting about Halloween.  Oh well, right?  Better late than never.  We trick-or-treated in our neighborhood again this year and had lots of fun.  We walked around our block with our friends and as an added treat, my sister's family came too.  Mackenzi, Jace, and Quinn were so super excited to spend the evening with their cousins.
