Mystery Rash, Part 2

Remember a few weeks back when Quinn woke up from his nap with a mystery rash covering his face?? Well, it happened again! This time there was no peanut butter involved. We haven't switched laundry detergent, they weren't even freshly washed bedding. He had no new foods. I'm lost. It is not welty, or raised. Just red, hot skin. Anyone want to self diagnose him???

Random Thoughts

I have been out of the blogging loop lately. I'm very sorry if anyone has been visiting my blog hoping for an update (ha!). Lately, there's been a lot of rain. We haven't done anything too exciting because of it. Just when the rain stopped, we got a little tummy bug. Luckily it was nothing too harsh. Smack dab in the middle of all that, I got hooked on the Twilight series books. I can now say that I understand why everyone was so addicted to the books and movies...they're awesome. I can also say I understand why everyone loves Edward. Lastly, I will admit that I cannot get it out of my head. I have been planning the boys 2nd birthday party. I just can't believe that they are going to be two!! My gosh, it goes too quickly! We have a lot of busy weekends ahead of us, so hopefully I will have something very exciting to post about soon!! Until then...

I've Met My Quota.

I haven't had the greatest luck with my car lately. Fortunately it has been nothing too serious. It all started about a month and a half ago. I was waiting in the parking lot of Mackenzi's preschool. The boys and I had just gotten back from a walk and we had some time to kill. They were fussy. So I put on a movie. I wasn't thinking straight and I drained the battery. I had to get jumped before picking her up so that we could drive home. About two weeks later, Quinn locked me out of the car and AAA had to rescue us. Remember that story?? Well, it's happened again. AAA to the rescue. While Mackenzi was at preschool yesterday, the boys and I ran a few errands. On errand #2, I parked my car at Costco and got out to get the boys...that's when I heard the noise. Like air coming out of a popped raft. Only it wasn't a raft, it was my tire. I had ran over a small piece of something and within one minute, my tire was flat. Luckily AAA came quickly and my mother in law did too. She brought me (my father-in-law) Rick's truck to drive for the day. As I was loading the boys into the truck, it started to sprinkle. Perfect timing!! We were able to pick up Kenzi (on time) and make it home just as the storm started. I was so lucky! Even luckier that the tire was able to be patched and we didn't have to get a whole new one!!!
Things come in 3s right??? Battery, locked doors, tire. I think I've met my quota....or so I hope!

Mickey's Rockin' Road Show

We got to go to Mickey's Rockin' Road Show on Saturday night. The kids had a lot of fun. They got to see all their favorite Disney Characters including Mickey and friends, Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Tigger and Cinderella. Quinn's favorite part was the popcorn, although he did enjoy the show too. Jace's favorite part was that Grandpa was letting him run wild and climb on the seats. Mackenzi's favorite part was Cinderella and her new Cinderella light toy. After the show we went to Rainforest Cafe where we met up with a few of the kids' uncles (and Auntie Kara too). The kids had a blast, went to bed late, and slept in (a bit) in the morning!!! Thanks for all the fun Grandpa and Grandma!!! Quinn, Grandma and the popcorn.Jace, Grandpa, and Quinn (with the popcorn again)Mackenzi, Grandma, and her new Cinderella toy.

Note to Self:

Don't put the boys' piggy bank on top of their favorite book (on the dresser). Disaster will happen...notice the broken piggy in the bottom right hand corner. So sad. Quinn was having fun playing with the money and ended up cutting his finger before we could get to them and remove them from the broken pig. It was Jace's bank that was broken. I guess they'll have to share for awhile!!!! See the two Diego bandaids on his finger!! He could care less, silly boy.

Disneyland Fun

We were lucky enough to be invited to Disneyland with our friends to celebrate their daughter Milan's birthday. Milan and Mackenzi are in the same preschool class and we've become friends with her family. After spending the night with them at their timeshare (a 10,000sq.ft. suite....SWEET!) we headed to Disneyland. Mackenzi and Milan were thrilled to be there together and the boys were just thrilled to be there. Luckily, it wasn't too crowded and we made it on lots of rides. Mackenzi wasn't scared of the characters at all, either was Quinn (from the safety of the stroller). We went to California Adventure and Disneyland and stayed all day. Even Matt (a hater of Dland) had a good time. Mackenzi got to go on all her favorite rides: Small world, the carousal, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Toon Town Roller Coaster, and we even braved Pirates of the Caribbean with the kids. The boys LOVED being able to walk in the lines like big boys. Jace's favorite was Winnie the Pooh and Small World, while Quinn's favorite was the Carousal and the Jungle Cruise. We had a wonderful time with wonderful (new) friends. The best part was that it's 2fer time, so we get to go back in the next 30 days....Matt's THRILLED!!

Rash or Reaction???

Quinn has very sensitive skin. Lately he wakes up from naps with red marks all over his face. It's weird because it doesn't really happen at night, just naps. Today he woke up and I saw that he had a bigger than normal rash. Then I opened up his blinds and saw just how big the rash/red marks were.....Here's from one side....not so bad.... Here's the view from the other side.
I'm thinking that this is probably not red spots from napping. Most definitely not!! I'm really hoping it's not from lunch (Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, string cheese, and Cheetos). He has had it all before with no reaction to it. He doesn't have this redness anywhere else on his body. These pictures were taken about 2 hours after he woke up from his nap! What do you think??? Is it a rash or a reaction to something??? I'm curious....but for now, I'm off to keep a close eye on this little guy!

Flashback Friday

Today I'm taking you back to when the boys really liked to be together. They felt comfort and security when they were placed together to snuggle. If you can't tell them apart, Jace is the one on the right....the one with the widow's peak and the pixie ear! My, oh my....I can't believe this was taken almost two years ago!!! These little studs were just a few weeks old and wearing preemie clothing.

Crazy....

Yesterday, I thought I might have been going crazy. This is something that has happened before. Who am I kidding?? It happens a lot. It's usually stress-related when being a stay-home-mom becomes too overwhelming. Yesterday, it wasn't like this at all. We went to my parent's for the afternoon after I picked up Kenzi at school. She has two playpens, so after lunch I put the boys down for their naps. They of course thought it was party time. I kept having to remind them that it's nap time. After about an hour, I heard crying. I went in and laid them down, yet again. Gave them each their blankies that were thrown out of the cribs. Then I looked at them, confused. I could have SWORN that I put Quinn in the first crib and Jace in the second, but now they were switched. They can't climb out of the playpens yet....Am I really losing my mind?? So I walked out and kept thinking about it. My parent's got home from work. I greeted them at the door and told my mom about me losing my marbles. I told her how I thought they may have switched....we laughed and came to the conclusion that I just wasn't paying attention when I laid them down the first time. They were still partying without napping for 2 hours, so I went in to get them. This is what I found...I DEFINITELY wasn't going crazy. Those little stinkers were climbing back and forth into each other's play pens!! My goodness they're getting big! I guess they just like to be together. It must be really cool to have your best friend with you 24/7!!!! Now, let's just hope they don't figure out how to get out of their cribs.

Work It Girl!!!

Apparently, you don't need much to work out, especially if you're three years old. After Mackenzi saw me working out yesterday, she wanted to it to. So I put on a kids work out video (ON DEMAND is awesome) and she went to town. She did a 30 minute workout before she wanted to stop (crazy lady). There was a point in the workout that the kids all grabbed weighted balls. She about freaked out. She needed weights too. So, I got her two play cell phones, which she thought were great weights. Half way through the workout she ran to her room and got her rain boots to finish up, who needs tennis shoes?? Apparently, all you need to get in shape is a pair of yellow rain boots and two cell phones!!
Work it girl!!!

Any Old Thing...

Ever since we made the "see-bees" stay in bed (AKA: blankies only at naptime and bedtime), Jace's motto is "Any old thing will do". He used to only want HIS blankies. They had to be satin on one side and minky on the other. But now?? As long as it is a blanket, he doesn't care what size it is, what material it is, or whose it is....he even tried to swipe his friend's blanket on new years eve. We found him with a sneaky face, giggling as he enjoyed his thumb and the stolen blanket. Silly boy.

Case in point...Yes, this is a HUGE soft blanket. It's a queen sized blanket to be exact. It took all his muscles to drag this big seebee from the living room to the toy room. I found him watching a movie, sucking his thumb, and cuddling this over sized see-bee. Silly, silly boy!!! Yep, any old thing will do!!!

New Year Jammy-Jam

For the second year in a row, Dusty and Emily hosted a New Years Jammy Jam sleepover. A bunch of us bring our kids, come decked out in jammies, and have a rockin' time together. This year was no different. Just like last year, there were 8 little ones running around wild. If the kids weren't taking a ride on Gavin and Link's new roller coaster, they were watching movies, chasing each other, or playing in the toy room. After the kids went to bed, it was the mommies and daddies turn to play and run wild! We had a blast chatting the night away, playing video games, playing catch phrase, a few drinking games and ended the night in a dance party (my kind of way to end the party).

Oh, what a night!!!

This Year...

The New Year....time to reflect, decided what needs to be changed, and put it into action. I never really make new year's resolutions. This year I have thought of a few things that are at the top of my list for 2010. Not necessarily resolutions, but goals....here they are:
1. PLAY MORE
2. Manage my time a tad bit better
3. Exercise more
3. Loosen up a little
4. Be a little more selfless and a bit more giving
5. Stop worrying about the things I cannot control
6. Don't count the days, make the days count!!

So here's to 2010!! I hope you all have a very happy New Year that is filled with wonderful experiences, awesome friends, and superb health!!!
