End of the Summer Camp Out

The weekend before the kids went back to school, we had a camp out in the backyard with the kids.  We had bought a new tent at the beginning of the summer and we busted it out for the first time.  It was HUGE, we didn't realize it was that big.  We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.  Matt and all four kids slept out in the tent all night long.  I didn't make it that far.  I had to come inside to my comfy bed half way through the night.  

It was the perfect way to end the summer!!

Mackenzi had to fill up an "All About Me" bag for second grade.  She needed to include this that tell all about her likes.  She could fill it with trinkets and drawings, and pictures.  She wanted me to take a picture of her and HER dog Hurley.  So we invited Hurley-girly up on her bed and I took a picture.  Little did I know that this would turn into one of my favorite pictures.

First Day of School 2013

Yesterday was the first day of school.  It seemed that summer went by in a flash.  The kids were super excited for the school year (and so was I).  Luckily, they got all of their first day jitters out over the weekend.  They were so happy to be going to school.  There were no tears...it was a successful day! Matt & I decided to split up the boys for the first time, so they will be spending Kindergarten in separate classrooms.  Hopefully they will do well.  Mackenzi was excited to see that a previous Kinder teacher was going to be her teacher.  She even had a few friends in her class.
