Swimming School

The kids are taking swim lessons.  It started last week and will end this Friday.  They've come such a long way in just a short amount of time.  Mackenzi already knew how to swim, so she is working on technique.  She is learning the butterfly stroke, back stroke, freestyle, and diving entry.  The boys started the lessons off scared to death to try to swim independently.  By the end of the first week, they were both swimming by themselves.  Quinn even puts his face down and swims underwater (which is a big deal for him).  I'm very proud of my little swimmers!!!

Celebrating Daddy!

We are lucky to have lots of men in our life that are wonderful Fathers!!  My dad is the nicest guy you'll ever find.  He's a wonderful father and an even better Boppa to my children!!  They just love him to death.  Matt's dad is a great example for his children and grandchildren as well.  My kids love to spend time with him too.  Matt is an amazing daddy.  He loves to do the fun stuff with the kids but he also takes time to do the not so fun stuff too... on any given day you might find him snuggling, reading, playing, bathing the kids, or getting them a  snack/meal.  He is such a wonderful  Daddy who plays such a huge, active role in the kids' lives.

On Father's Day this year we spent a quiet morning at home watching Matt open his presents.  Then, we met up with my parents for breakfast.  Afterwards, we went to Matt's parents for an afternoon of swimming and barbequing.  It was the perfect day to celebrate the special daddies in our lives...especially Matt!!

A Celebration for a SIX Year Old!

On Monday, Mackenzi turned six years old!!  I can't believe that she's that big already!!  We had a wonderful day celebrating this little girl.  She had picked out a special cereal from the store for breakfast (Reeses cereal).  For lunch I made her all-time favorite meal, sloppy joes & french fries.  She was thrilled to get some new clothes, a scooter, and a new doll.
In the evening, both our families came over for a rainbow party!  Mackenzi loves rainbows, so that's what she wanted for her celebration!  We had rainbow cupcakes, rainbow gumballs, rainbow fruit kabobs  and rainbow veggie trays.  We ate pizza and salad!!  The kids had fun playing with their cousins.  Mackenzi got some wonderful gifts including clothes, real ladybugs & butterflies to grow, American Girl clothes, a leap pad game, art/craft supplies, money, and a bell for her bike.  She scored!!!

We hope all your wishes & dreams come true, sweet girl!!  Mommy & Daddy love you SO so much!!!

New Tricks

Over the past week, Bentley has been full of new tricks!!  She now plays with her feet.  Her legs are constantly up...it's so cute!

She is a full on finger sucker.  These are the two fingers she likes.  For awhile she switched between her thumb and fingers, but now she's full on fingers!  Kinda awkward....kinda cute!!
She can now hold her head up when lying on her tummy.  She never really understood tummy time.  Every time I'd put her on her tummy, she'd just lay her head down and relax.  Silly girl!!  She also learned how to roll from her tummy to her back.  Here she is mid-roll!!
4 months old and full of tricks!!!

Swim-Over

Last week, we had a swim-over (as Quinn calls it) at my sister's house.  The kids swam from 9a.m.-2p.m. only stopping to eat some lunch.  I had to pull them out of the pool to leave because I knew that they were so tired, but wouldn't stop swimming.  They had so much fun swimming with their cousins.

We're so lucky that Auntie Dana & Uncle Kevy live so close to us!!!  We sure love them!

Milestones...

Time is flying by with this little girl of mine!  Saturday she will turn 4 months old.  I just can't believe it!!  Last week, she rolled over from her back to front for the first time.  She was practicing all week rolling half way (see picture), but one night while we were eating dinner she did it.  She hasn't done it since, so we'll see if it was a fluke or not!
She also sat in her bumbchair for the first time.  I got it out thinking, "maybe she's big enough for this".  Boy, she was bigger than I thought and sat like a champ!!  Such a big girl!!

Lots of news for this little girl!!  We also took her paci away and she's doing much better without it.  She now sucks her two fingers (middle and ring) in the most unique way!!  She's started to giggle and loves to talk!!!

Stay tuned for her 4 month pictures and update in a few days!!!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day, we had our friends, The Cornetts, over for a barbecue.  Matt tried a new recipe and it was DELICIOUS!!  We had smoked pulled pork sandwiches {with homemade bbq sauce} topped with homemade coleslaw, and a homemade onion ring and a spinach & strawberry salad.  It was seriously so yummy!!!  Before they came over we took a few snapshots of our family.  Bentley isn't in all of them because she was still napping.

We had a wonderful day of squirt guns, splashing kiddie pool, bike riding fun!!!
