Smiley Girl

This pretty little thing did great at her 2 month check up last week.  She weighed 9 pounds and was 21.5 inches long.  Our petite girl moved from the 5th percentile to the 10th for height and weight.  She only cried for a few seconds after her shots too.  She's sleeping better at night.  We're SO close to sleeping through the night!!!  We just love this smiley girl!!

Our Super Busy, Fun Filled Weekend

We had a whole lot of fun last weekend.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and boy, was it hot!!  On Friday afternoon, the kids spent hours in the backyard playing in the hose.  I filled their toy bucket with water and they had a blast splashing in it.

On Friday night, we went to Quakes Stadium to watch the game.  It was a family night fundraiser for Mackenzi's school.  We had lots of fun watching the game!!

We didn't have any plans on Saturday, so we headed over to Matt's parents to swim.  We ended up swimming all day long.  The kids were in heaven and SO tired that night!!  Mackenzi is turning into a super swimmer.  Jace is a fish and loves to be in the water.  Quinn is getting more comfortable swimming and was even jumping in and getting his head wet (which is so unlike him).

On Sunday we went to Gavin & Lincoln's fourth birthday party.    It was at My Gym.  The kids had an absolute blast.  The party theme was super hero, so Emily made them all super hero capes.  They were all so cute!!

The birthday boys are in the superman shirts

Whew....what a weekend!!
I think the kids are still tired from it, but it sure was fun!

We have another birthday party this weekend, but other than that we have no plans...time to relax!!

FAIL!

Bentley likes to be swaddled when she sleeps.  It was smokin' hot last weekend so I swaddled her in a muslin blanket instead of her velcro swaddle.  I went in to check on her because it was time for her to eat and this is what I found...
Swaddle...FAIL!!
Oh well, looks like she was hot or something.
As soon as I unwrapped what was left of her swaddle, she popped her eyes open and gave me some cute smiles!!
I just love this girl!!!

Kindy 500

Last Friday, Mackenzi participated in the Kindy 500 at her school.  All the kindergartners had to create a car out of a cardboard box.  They had a small parade that the parents could watch.  We think her car came out adorable...but we were SO impressed with some of these other cars!!!

Here were some of my favorite cars from the parade...
After the parade, they had centers in the kinder yard with lots of fun things to do with their cars.  She told me she got to take her car to the car wash, through starbucks for some chocolate milk, and that she even got a ticket for being too cute!!

How fun is that!?!?

Preschool

Last week was open house at the boys' preschool.  They were very excited to go to their classroom at night.  They were more interested in playing with their friends there than showing us their work.  Here are a few of my favorite projects that were displayed.

The following day, I spent the morning at their school watching them at chapel.  Jace was sad the whole time...it made him "miss me" that I was there.  Quinn was giddy, he kept turning around and giving me this smile!

They only have one more month of school.  I cant believe that the school year went by that fast.  They've learned so much at preschool this year!!  I'm so proud of my big boys!!

2 Months Old

Bentley turned two months old yesterday.  She's getting so big, so fast!!  On Monday, we will take  her to the doctor's office for her two month check up and her shots.  As of a couple of weeks ago, she was 8 lbs. 5 oz.  So I'm sure she will be over 9 pounds on Monday.  Here's what we've learned about Miss Bentley this month...

She...
  • still grunts and grunts
  • she smiles all the time
  • loves her Mommy and gives me the absolute best smiles
  • eats every 3-3.5 hours
  • still isn't sleeping longer than 3 or 4 hour stretches at night
  • burps like a champ

She...
  • loves the swing that her cousin Madison let her borrow
  • spends her last nap of the day in that swing
  • still loves to suck her paci, but not as much as in the first month
  • is able to cry and keep her paci in her mouth at the same time
  • has found her hands and likes to suck on them
  • has actually grown out of some newborn clothes
  • had her first breast milk bottle from Daddy and took it like a champ
  • coos, smiles, and squeals at her friends under her activity mat

My Two Youngest

Quinn and Bentley
My two youngest babies.
Quinn absolutely adores Bentley.
He's constantly in her face, telling her how beautiful she is.
Telling her she's a princess.
Telling her she looks great.
Asking her how her nap was.
Talking to her.
Kissing her.
Lovin' her.

I'm sure Bentley will return the love soon.
As soon as she gets big enough to show him.

It warms my heart to see my children express their love for eachother.

Easter Weekend: Part 2

On Sunday, the kids woke up super excited that the Easter Bunny had been there.  Mackenzi even thought she heard him in the middle of the night.  They got lots of goodies in their baskets.  The Easter Bunny hid the hard-boiled eggs in the backyard for an egg hunt.  Hurley (our dog) was the winner of the hunt, she found 7 eggs and ate them before the kids even came outside to find them.  Crazy dog.  The Bunny didn't think she'd eat them, boy was he wrong!!!

Matt took the 3 big kids to church while I stayed home with Bentley.  She hasn't had her 2 months shots yet, so I was nervous about taking her there in such close quarters with so many people and germs!!  Afterwards, we went over to Matt's parent's house.  They got another basket there and had an egg hunt too!!
Madison's 1st Easter...she's so darn cute!!

The Rogina Family

Grandpa heated the pool, so they got to swim for a few hours.  The weather was absolutely beautiful on Easter!!

After lunch, we packed up for part 2 of our day...my parent's house.  While packing up, Mackenzi kept complaining that her tummy hurt.  I thought maybe she drank too much pool water or ate too much lunch.  About 5 minutes from my parent's, she got sick in the car.  It seemed that she had the tummy flu.  We turned right around and headed home.  Thank God that we had Easter buckets in the car, if you know what I mean!!  We spent the rest of Easter at home on the couch tending to our sweet, sick girl.  Matt's the only other one that got it...thankfully.  My kids still want an egg hunt at Nana & Boppa's.  I have a bag full of stuffed eggs so I think we just might do one next time we're there!!

Easter Weekend: Part 1

Friday night, we went over to the Cornett's house to have dinner and an egg hunt for the kids.  We all had such a good time spending time together.  The kids loved the egg hunt, of course.  Melissa stuffs the eggs with such great goodies.  Sticky frogs and lip gloss rings were the favorite of them all!!

On Saturday, we spent the day doing things around the house.  Of course we had to dye Easter eggs too!!  The kids had so much fun mixing colors to create new ones.  They all liked the color purple that was made by the pink and blue the best!!!

We had a very eventful Easter day too...
that post is up next!!!

First Friends

Bentley is only 7 weeks old, but she already has two little cuties that will be two of her favorite people, I'm sure.
Bentley and  her cousin Madison are 7 months apart.  An age difference that seems big now, but once their both toddlers, you wont see the age difference at all!!
Our friends Dusty and Emily had a sweet baby girl three days after Bentley was born.  Here are Bentley and Sienna hanging out together in the pack-n-play.  These two girls are sure to be buddies!!

We have a lot of friends that have boys, so it's sure nice to get some little ladies around!!
Mackenzi just loves that there are little girls in our life!!
