Sleepy Head
Quinn has been asking to take naps lately. He and Jace haven't really been taking naps for the past 5 or 6 months...unless they're super cranky/tired. But lately, he's been asking for naps. I don't know if it's because he wants to take a break, cuddle his blankie, and suck his thumb or if he's really tired. Last week, I walked in on him sleeping like this...
my crazy sleepy head!!
Movin' on Up!!
This little cutie is movin' on up in the elementary school world.
That's right, friends!! Mackenzi's officially done with Kindergarten and on her way to first grade!! I sure can't believe that the school year is over. She has done such a great job this year. She's learned so much and is so smart....learning definitely comes easy to this smartie pants!! She received all "4's" & "+'s" on her report card. She's ready for first grade!!!
This next picture is of her and her teacher, Mrs. Brase. Mackenzi cried on the last day of school because she was going to miss her SO much. We are so fortunate that she was Mackenzi's teacher...she is awesome!! Hopefully we get lucky with another super teacher next year!!
On Monday night, the kindergarten classes had a end of the year celebration. They sang lots of adorable songs. My parents, Matt's mom, and Wendy came to watch her perform. We went to dinner to celebrate. I just love this picture of my dad and Mackenzi.

Playing in the Mud
On Saturday, Matt and our friend Jeremy participated in the Mud Run. It was Matt's second time participating and he had lots of fun. He hadn't trained for it, so it was a challenging 5k. The kids had fun playing in the mud while we waited.
I'm very proud of Matt for doing it, even though he didn't train for it. He rocked it!!!

Bentley: 3 Months
Our big girl turned three months old yesterday. How in the world has it already been three months?? Here's what she's been up to this month...
- she got her ears pierced and SCREAMED for about 3 minutes. Poor girl! But, she hasn't fussed about them since.
- She weighs 10 lbs. 1 oz.
- She can lift her head up a for a bit when laying on her tummy.
- She holds her head up like a big girl when you're holding her.
- She smiles, coos, and talks all the time.
- She especially loves to "talk" to Mackenzi. She loves her sister.
- She has been napping and eating like a champ. She eats every 3-3.5 hours.
- She goes to bed at 7:30-8:00 every night and wakes up between 6:30t7:00 in the morning
- She is still waking up once or twice to eat at night....come on sister!!
- She is on day two of NOT being swaddled. She used to fall asleep on her own, but I've been rocking her so that she can fall asleep. I'll break that habit once she is used to not sleeping in the swaddle.
- She can't figure out if she wants to suck her paci, her thumb, or her fingers.
- Had her first bad cold and her first round of antibiotics. She's finally feeling and breathing better. Hopefully her brothers will stop kissing her on her face/mouth...she's so dang kissable though.
Happy 3 Month Birthday my sweet girl.
We love you SO SO much!!!
My Girls & A Favorite Outfit
I kept this outfit of Mackenzi's for a keepsake, not knowing that 5.5 years later we would have another little peanut to dress. The top picture is of Mackenzi at about 1.5 months old. It's Matt's favorite picture. The bottom picture is of Bentley at 3 months old. Mackenzi definitely had more rolls & more hair. The both love that paci and are ADORABLE girls!! I love my sweet girls!!!
Mother's Day Weekend
We had a very busy weekend to celebrate Mother's day. On Friday, the boys' preschool hosted a "Mom's and Muffins" breakfast. Even though it wasn't on their actual school day, we went to enjoy breakfast. Bentley was a good girl and slept through the whole thing. The boys were excited to drink chocolate milk and give me their gifts. They gave me little flower pots that they painted super cute insects with their fingerprints.
On Saturday, we invited Matt's Mom, Kelli over for dinner. Jeff & Kara came too. We had a great afternoon catching up. Matt barbecued ribs. It was delicious!!!
I was spoiled on Mother's Day. I got a new beach cruiser! I've already gone on quite a few rides around the block with the kids. I love my new bike!! Matt also got me a gift certificate to get a massage. I got a necklace from my parents, new shoes from Rick & Wendy, a gift card for a pedi from Jeff & Kara, and a super cute dress from Matt's mom. See, I told you I was spoiled!!! Sunday morning, we got up early and headed to church. We went to the country club afterwards for brunch. Followed by dinner at my sister's house. It was a busy day, but we got to visit with the moms that mean the most to us!!!
What a wonderful weekend. I'm so lucky to have such an awesome mom {who is such a great role model of what a mother should be}, and two wonderful mother-in-laws. I'm blessed to be called Mommy by four little sweethearts too!!!
For My Mother,
For all the times you gently picked me up
when I fell down.
For all the times you tied my shoes
or tucked me into bed
Or needed something
but put me first instead.
For everything we shared;
the dreams, the laughter, and the tears
I love you with a "special love"
that deepens every year.

Bath Time
Quinn has a puppy that he l.o.v.e.s. Love is actually an understatement. He got it for Valentine's day from my parents and it quickly became his new favorite. It's his side-kick. He carries it wherever he goes, it sleeps with him at night, and he's taken it to school three times on share-day. Puppy needed a bath in the worst way, so I talked him into throwing him in the wash. He wasn't too excited about it, but he did it.
He was SO excited when Puppy was fresh and clean. You'd think they were separated for weeks. He saw that his blue blankie was in there too and snuck a little cuddle while I was folding clothes.
On a Sunday Afternoon...
A couple of weeks ago, we went to The Buffalo Inn for lunch. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon. The kids are always happy to eat at restaurants. They loved this one because we got to eat outside. There was a live band playing some 70's rock. Quinn was so into it. He kept yelling, "ROCK & ROLL". Bentley slept through the whole thing in her carrier.
