Dusk

Bentley's favorite thing to do at Dusk is go outside.  This is a normal fussy time for her, but if you take her outside (preferably in the front yard), she is one happy girl!!  She loves sitting and playing, watching the other children play, looking at the trees, and watching Hurley run around...all the while, feeling the breeze in her face.

R.C. Sparks

Jace & Quinn started soccer a few weeks ago.  They are in a division where they meet once a week, on Saturday.  They practice (with parent participation) for the first half then they have a 4x4 game for the rest of practice.  The boys were so excited to start soccer.  They looked so darn cute in their little uniforms.  It's been smokin' hot the past two weeks, so they're super hot when playing.  They've been troopers.

Jace is in the yellow laces, Quinn in the black.  Quinn is definitely more aggressive out there than Jace, but they both have been working hard to learn the game.  Both of them ALMOST even scored yesterday!!!  I'm looking forward to watching them play many games this season...hopefully in cooler weather!!!

Wordless Wednesday

The Olympics

Our good friends, Dusty & Emily, set up an olympic competition day for the kids.  It was at the park around the corner from our house.  It was so much fun!!  There was potato weight lifting, an obstacle course, ribbon  twirling, hurdles, races, and much more!!  At the end, there was a medal ceremony where all the participants received a medal and lollipop.  We ended the day with a barbecue at their house!! It was such a fun day, the kids really enjoyed themselves...

Mackenzi was the fastest kid at the park!!

Thanks for planning such a fun day for us all Dusty & Em!!  We hope to do it again next year!!!

Broken Arm Update

Mackenzi got her cast off today, HOORAY!!
She has been counting down the days to take that bad boy off!!  She told him she wants to keep it {great!} so they cut it very carefully and we brought that stinky thing home!  Her wrist is only 75% healed.  There is lots of new bone growth around the break, so he felt comfortable taking it off.  It was so cute, the doctor told her she has to take it very easy; no running, biking, skating, monkey bars, cartwheels, pushing brothers...she can only do easy things like make her bed, clean her room, clean up her dishes, homework, Barbies, and play dolls.  He cracks me up!!
one last look at that thing...
free!!
He gave her an ice cream after her visit!!  She was in heaven.  We go back in 3 weeks for another re-check!!
She couldn't wait to take a bath tonight and PLAY in the water!!!!
I couldn't wait to give her a bath without a plastic bag over her arm!!!

First Day of Pre-K

The boys started preschool yesterday!  They are in a pre-kindergarten classroom at the preschool that Mackenzi went to.  I'm so happy to be back at that school, it's a drive...but I think it's well worth it!  They were so excited to start school this year.  They were really counting down the days (so was this mama)...especially Jace.  He could not wait!!!

There were no tears, no nervous tummies, and no sadness what so ever when it was school time.  They met their teachers and got right to work, playing that is.

They had a great day.  They got to play with playdough, tools, helicopters, do an apple craft, and play outside on some really cool toys.  After school I treated them to lunch....I told them we could eat where ever they wanted.  They picked mc-d's....of course!

with the two best pre-k teachers around
I am so glad they had a great first day...let's hope the second day is just as good!!  We are looking forward to all that they will learn and the fun they will have this year in pre-k!!
