A Little Bit Crafty...
Yesterday morning, we went to Kohl's. I picked up a pack of small American flags. They were on sale for a dollar, so I couldn't pass them up. If anything, I thought I'd just let the kids play with them this weekend and take a few cute pictures of it. Then, during nap time....I was looking at blogs and I came across a tutorial for 4th of July shirts. The light bulb went off in my head. I bet I can round up 3 old tee-shirts and whip them up. So that is just what I did.
Mackenzi was super excited to sit and watch me. I made her shirt first. I angled the flag a bit, but I really don't like it. Oh well. So I kept the boys straight ( I had to anyways because I had to cover a pocket on their shirts).
All I did was sew it on around the edges, quick and simple.
Here is the finished products!! Pretty cute and it only cost me three old shirts and a buck!! Now they'll be all patriotic for the fourth!!
Last but not least, I wanted to wish my sister a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Have a wonderful day Dana!!
We LOVE you very, very much!

Our Weekend...A Recap.
Our weekend started off with Daddy not feeling to well. He has had a cough/runny nose/sore throat since last Sunday. I gave him some cough syrup with codeine to help him feel a bit better, but it ended up leaving him on the couch for a couple of hours...
After his morning snooze (and the codeine wore off), he was feeling much better. I put the last touches on the Graduate Champagne and then we were off to Samantha's graduation party. I thought the Graduate Champagne was super cute, Matt thought it was corny. Whatever!
This is Courtney, the youngest of the Dapper girls....Mackenzi played her shadow ALL EVENING. Court was a good sport and loved every minute of it.
The Dapper's have an in-ground trampoline. My kids spent the entire evening jumping. The next morning Mackenzi even told me, "Mom, my legs are KILLING me!"....hahaha.
On Sunday we spent the morning swimming with some friends and the afternoon playing in our backyard. The kids had a blast running through the sprinklers, sliding down the make-shift "water slide", and eating popsicles. There are no pictures of the boys because they were running around naked....

And, last but not least, BEDTIME!! Ahhh, that part is music to my ears!!! Quinn (on the right) snuck into Jace's bed yet again. Silly boys.

Puzzle Time
My children really, really like puzzles. Mackenzi is getting pretty good at doing them. She loves sitting there and finding the spot for each piece. She could do it for hours.
The boys have taken a change of heart and really started to like puzzles lately too. Especially Jace. He has much more patience to sit and try to put the pieces away. Quinn is working on it too....but it can usually only hold his attention for a few minutes (if we're lucky).

I love when puzzle time is quiet and full of hard work. It's so relaxing.
I really love puzzle time when it's like that!!
But really, who am I kidding?
Puzzle time usually consists of the boys yelling in a rage as they tear each puzzle apart, scattering pieces all across the floor. Pulling the pieces out of Mackenzi's hand or her puzzle causing her to scream and shriek with frustration!

Jace 1.....Quinn 0
Yesterday the kids were at their wits end...they were done. They didn't want to play with anything. I'm sure they would have LOVED to watch a movie, but I wasn't havin' that. So I decided to pull out my sister's jumper (that we're borrowing because her kids have outgrown it). The boys were SUPER DUPER excited to play in the "bump, bump, bump" (as they call it). They're really starting to turn into big boys, which means they enjoy doing big boy things....like wrestling. Body slamming, pulling, jumping....yep, they love it. There is just one problem. These 'big boys' can't handle things like 'big boys'. They still very much whine and cry like baby boys....oh, my life. I love it. So here are a few pictures of the big boys playing like big boys...
Jace just missed the tackle.
Jace got him by a leg...
Quinn fought back and body slammed Jace, while bumping his lip on the back of Jace's big ol' noggin.
Summer wrestling score:
Jace takes a big win.
Jace:1......Quinn:0
I'm sure the results will change as the summer progresses......

Father's Day 2010
I am such a lucky lady. I have been blessed with such wonderful men in my life. My dad is amazing. He is caring and supportive. He is gentle and funny. He is a great role model and a great example. I have a wonderful father in law. He is a happy-go-lucky, exciting guy. He is a very supportive father. He has shown his kids how to be the best husband and love their mother tremendously. Both my dad and Matt's have been excellent fathers and have been a huge part in making Matt and I the parents we are today. I am very lucky to be married to Matt. He is a wonderful husband who is a great mix of his dad and mine. He is funny, loving, supportive, and likes to have fun. He is a wonderful Daddy as well!! I am so lucky that he has been such an active Father from day one, helping out, doing fatherly duties, taking part in the every day moments. I hope all of the Fathers in my life had a great Father's Day and know how much they are loved and appreciated!!!!
We had a great day on Sunday. We had spent the night in Balboa Beach so we woke up early and got ready for our day. Then we opened presents with Matt's family and Grandparents. The kids and I got Matt a shirt and hat. We also got him this picture for his office!! He liked that a lot.

I made our Dads and Matt these key chains. I thought they were adorable. I got the idea from this blog.

They are made out of washers and Steel Stamps. So easy, so manly, so cute!!

Then we headed to brunch with Matt's whole family at Balboa Pavilion for an amazing brunch!!!!!
My parents house was the last stop of the day. We got to spend more time outside enjoying the sunshine in my parent's back yard. Matt, my dad, and my brother Ryan got to spend some time doing something they deserve....laying on the couch and resting!!!! Matt ended up not feeling too well by the evening, so we came home after dinner and he went to bed at the same time as the kids!! Hopefully whatever is making him feel yucky passes soon!!
Balboa Beach Birthday Bash
On Saturday we woke up early and headed out to Balboa for Mackenzi's birthday party. The weather was gorgeous!! Everyone had a lot of fun. We hung out and enjoyed the sun, sand, and surf!! Mackenzi was spoiled with LOTS of awesome gifts. She had a great time, as did everyone else!! My dad and Matty cooked up some yummy burgers and hot dogs for dinner. We ended the night with a bonfire and s'mores. What a way to spend a birthday!!
We spent the night with Matt's family at their beach house in Balboa. These three were SOOOO tuckered out!!
Head on over to my mom's blog for more awesome pictures that she took of the birthday girl!!!
4 Years Old...Her Special Day
On Friday, our sweet girl turned four! We started off the morning by opening a few gifts (bedhead and all) from Mommy, Daddy, and Bobos. She was so excited and grateful for each one she opened. She got a few outfits and new pair of shoes, a puzzle, writing supplies, and Toy Story trading cards.

She also got some $$$ from Great Grandpa and Grandma. This girl loves money!!
We spent the morning doing the things she loves (which includes Barbies and painting her fingernails and toenails). Next, we were off to Chili's for lunch!! They sang happy birthday to her and brought her a chocolate milkshake.
After naps, we went to the movies to see Toy Story 3. The kids had never been to the movie theater before, so it was a first for everyone. They were so excited. Daddy spoiled them all. They chose a LARGE fruit punch, M&Ms, and popcorn!!
The show was about to start and Kenzi-pie was SO excited....She had her 3-D glass ready (Daddy did too).
The boys were not too sure what to make of this whole thing. They kept whining and saying "BUZZZZ"....they weren't very patient for the show to begin!! This (grainy) picture cracks me up.

Everyone did great for their first trip to the theater!!
We had a birthday party for Mackenzi on Saturday at Balboa Beach....Stay tuned for a picture overload.
