Mackenzi's New Hobby

Mackenzi got her loom kit for Christmas from Auntie Kara & Uncle Jeff.  She loves working on it, trying to create new bracelets.  She's mastered some of the easier designs.  She's made bracelets, rings, and collars for her stuffed pups.  Together (thanks to the internet) we created a panda bear charm.  She made a beautiful  star-burst bracelet the other night ALL BY HERSELF (and an online tutorial).  She was so proud of herself...especially because it was a "Level: Challenging" design.   This thing is all the craze!  If your little girl doesn't have one yet, I suggest you go out and get one!! They're super fun!!

Rose Parade Floats

Rick & Wendy invited us to go to Pasadena to see the floats from the parade.  I hadn't been since I was a teenager, and Matt had never been.  It was PACKED!  I cannot believe how many people were there.  We got to see some of our favorite floats from the parade.  It really is amazing that people decorate these floats so beautifully!!  The t.v. doesn't do them justice...they're amazing in person!!

Welcoming 2014

We decided to have a pretty quiet night at home for New Year's eve.  Our friends, The Cornett's, come over for a bit.  We had some drinks, dinner, and dessert & the kids played a bit.  We celebrated 2014 with the east coast.

We took down all of our Christmas decorations last week, but we kept the tree up.  I decorated it for New Years with hats, blowers, and noise makers.

We had ice cream sundaes for dessert.  It was a hit!

HAPPY NEW  YEAR!

We put the kids to bed & our company went home around 10:30.  Matt and I hung out downstairs until Jace decided to come lay on the couch with a tummy ache.  He rang in the new year with the tummy flu!  Poor guy!!!  Over the  next few days, everyone in our family got it!!  Oh well, we've been very lucky...it was bound to happen!!

We're looking forward to 2014!!!
